It’s been a great week, so what better way to celebrate the last seven days than to recap, eh?
I’m trying something a little new today. As you’ll have seen from some of my older posts, I liked to share videos and songs that I came across and really enjoyed. However, it got to a point where that was all I was sharing and it started to lose focus from everything else I was writing and sharing. With that in mind, I’ve decided to try a weekly round-up of my favourite things I’ve discovered in the past week – are you loving my totally DIY header image too?! We’ll see how well it goes down and if it sticks!
Broad City – Ilana Gets Fired
As you should know by now, I loooooove Broad City. In the latest episode, Ilana gets fired from her job – something which has only taken three seasons to happen, despite having serious reasons for getting rid since like the first episode. Her colleagues get pretty emotional at her exit, with the help of one very special actress.
Jaidynn Diore Fierce – Formation
I also have a particular adoration for drag queens. The latest performance from Jaidynn Diore Fierce, Drag Race season 7 girl, goes full-force Beyonce with a energetic performance of her latest hit Formation. This video contains hair whipping, like-for-like choreography and a whole lot of Fierce.
No Man’s Sky – New Gameplay Info
Anyone who’s up to speed with PS4 games will know that No Man’s Sky has been teased for quite a while now. This week came new information about the game, including a release date (June 24th) and a bit more of a scoop on how the game works. The cover art for the game is also a thing of serious beauty.
Låpsley – Long Way Home (Album)
I spent every opportunity on Friday to listen to the magnificent debut album from Låpsley, a British singer-songwriter who is signed to the same record label as Adele. It’s affecting and at sometimes minimalistic, and crosses genres with R&B, motown, pop and electronia. ‘Love Is Blind’ is the current single which you can check out the video below.
Ghostbusters – First Trailer
The release of the trailer for female-led reboot of Ghostbusters has caused a little bit of a raucous online, to say the least. Many fans of the original believe the new version looks too far apart from the classic, but surely that’s a good thing? You don’t want to go repeating the same formula time and time again. Anyway, I’m 100% up for this film. It stars four amazingly talented ladies in comedy and I am so excited to check it out when it’s released.
GAYCATION – Japan
A brand new web docu-series launched this week which features actress Ellen Page and her GBF Ian Daniel in a quest to find out what it’s like to be gay around the world. The first episode takes a look at the gay culture in Japan, and offers up a pretty interesting insight into how the rest of the world sees the LGBTQ community. You can watch the full episode here, whilst the trailer is below. It’s definitely worth a watch.
Let me know if there’s anything you think I missed off that you’ve really been enjoying this week!
